CR-V 2001 to 2006

  1. Started by Grim,

2006 2.0 petrol auto CRV MK2. Had catalytic converter stolen few weeks ago - have now replaced full exhaust system including both sensors. Car starts and runs fine but 6 seconds after starting get er message for open circuit on the O2 sensor connected to the catalytic converter Have tested output and tried replacing sensor but same problem. Note that original sensor had a blue connector but all replacements seem to have a grey connector and same part number - not sure if this means anything. Auto electrician has suggested that output is only 6 ohms and should be above 10? Thanks for looking - appreciate any thoughts.

Hello everyone I know many of you will think OMG doesn't he know that! But having skimmed through the whole owners manual I still cannot find what the panel on the rear door of the CR-V is for. Looking from the back of a RHD car it's the panel with an obvious gap around it located on the LHS directly beneath the door handle and model letters. At first I thought it may be a storage area, with maybe a corresponding entry behind it on the inside of the door but it's not. I assume that on a LHD car there's one on the opposite side! Any answers please on a postcard to The Dummy in the Honda CR-V Northamptonshire.

I have a 2006 CRV petrol exec manual with 117,000 miles which has been showing the engine management light after about 20 mins of driving. Fault code is always the knock sensor. I erase the fault with OBD and the light goes out but always comes back on again sometimes after a day and sometimes after 10 mins!! The car is not "pinking" and seems to be running perfectly with no odd engine noises at all even when listened to with a stethoscope. I tried new plugs just in case but didnt fix it. I have so far fitted 2 new aftermarket knock sensors and they fix it for a while but the fault code soon returns. I have even tried disconnecting the sensor but it still lights the engin…

I have a broken key fob. The metal shaft wobbles about in the plastic part and we have held it together with tape. Honda want over £200 for total new key. Timpson's want £50 for repair. Ebay £12. Advertised as 433 Mhz ID 48 chip (don't know what that means) I have watched vids on the DIY approach and does not seem above my capabilities. Opinions on the way to go please. Thank you

2006 CR-V 2.2 CTDI EX 115k miles. Ive got some pretty bad noise both at tick-over and driving, only when Clutch Pedal depressed. My recent history is new Master/Slave Cylinders, fluid flush, no change. Suspected DMF/Clutch, so all changed. Problem exactly the same. The DMF/Clutch replaced again on the suspicion of a faulty part. Problem exactly the same. Now the concern has switched to the Gearbox input shaft bearings. Does anyone have any ideas or experience of the possibilities of it being the gearbox? Apart from the noise, the car drives extremely well, smooth and faultless, but the noise when driving, only when depressing the clutch pedal to change gear, is pretty ba…

I didn't notice the red oil light come on and ran my CRV for 15 miles. Now on the key it makes an awful noise. Thought I'd mention this here in the off chance that someon might find it useful before it goes to the breakers next week (after calling them I am looking for £300, or more!). It has been well used, ie. lots of scratches on the corners, a broken door mirror and the back seats are out, but available MOT to August, was running great until the sudden oil loss, tow bar, Honda roof bars

  10. Very sad to have to let my CRV go. Petrol, manual 2004 125000 milage £350 .The cat was cut out damging the adjoining exhaust parts. Having gone round in circles with the insurers and different mechanics I need to throw the towel in. I don't have the time or space to fix her. She does have front driverside damage to the wheel arch too but mechanically everything is fine. She would need to be towed or put on a trailer. I want to get rid by the end of the week. March the 10th, daytime pickup on Monday and Friday. Or from 6.30 pm any day but Wednesday. Location is Camberwell London.

My daughter and I each have a Honda CR-V mine is a 2006 reg 2007 and my daughters is 2010 model,we have noticed on both cars that the drivers side front tyre keeps on losing air, and we obviously keep pumping to get back the required tyre pressure. After a few days the tyre pressure goes down. This happens continuously over a number of days. Both cars have been back to tyre companies who clean the wheel and that’s it, unfortunately the tyre companies have been unable to correct. The situation in either of our cars, help can anyone suggest a remedy, the tyre conditions are nearly new on both cars, and it is only the front drivers side tyre that is affected

  16. Hi everyone, my CRV 2004 Automatic is showing error codes P0135 (O2 Sensor heater circuit Bank 1 sensor 1) and P0131 (O2 sensor circuit low voltage Bank 1 sensor 1). I'm currently browsing three websites—GSFcarparts, EuroCarParts, and Autodoc—to find the correct parts. However, there are numerous variations, making it challenging to decide. For example, on the GSF website, the DENSO LAMBDA SENSOR - 315MM is priced at £150.40, while the same product on the Autodoc website is £40. I'm unsure which one to choose. Can anyone offer advice on which option I should go for? car reg: RJ54OAH

Gear linkage advice please, when I had Transit vans I found that if I kept the linkage lubricated that it kept changing gear very smooth, told about doing it by a RAC guy who came out when I couldn’t get any gear because it was too dry. My CRV is the best car I have ever had, the finish and all the extras and the doors shut better then a Golf!! My only little niggle is the gear change can be a little stiff, can someone tell me where I can find the gear linkage so I can spray it with Duck Oil please. Alan

I recently aquired a mint condition Honda CR-V 2006 SE AWD. I've changed all the fluids and the only remaining issue is a slight whirring sound from what I think is the auto transmission. It shifts and runs perfectly at 150k miles. Any ideas what it might be? It is there at all times and goes up and down as engine RPMS go up and down.

I left the lights on on my 2006 CRV petrol manual and flattened the battery. I took the battery out and recharged it. On reconnecting the battery the alarm went off almost continuously but didnt go off when I plipped the key fob and in fact nothing seemed to turn the alarm off, manual locking and unlocking doors, operating central locking manually or by key fob etc and the alarm carried on going for 20 mins or so. I could start and drive the car so the immobiliser wasnt acting. The alarm would then stop and restart every 10 mins or so untill I disconnected the battery. on reconnecting the alarm would go off at random times even whilst driving?? It has settled down a bit …
