Hi, We own a 2009 Honda Crv EX 2.2 diesel car for a year now. A couple of months back we've noticed the car battery went dead twice on us so we decided to invest in a new one. To our surprise 2 weeks later the new one went dead too! So we swapped the old battery (thankfully didn't get rid of it!) and charged up the new one (also double checking nothing had been left on inside the car). After 3 days when opening the car door, I strangely saw the sat Nav fascia was stuck half open (like it had a power surge) and low and behold, battery dead again. All becoming a bit like groundhog day now, so decided to get it booked in with the mechanics for the following week. Meanw…

Hi I previously had a 2.2 I-DTEC Ex prior to buying my current car (Volvo XC60 D5) and am potentially looking at coming back to Honda in the guise of an 18 plate 1.6 I-DTEC EX. I have a couple of general questions if you folks would be kind enough to help: 1 - I haven't yet driven a 1.6 so how do they compare performance wise to the 2.2? 2 - Any particular issues that I need to look for in the car? 3 - It has the Garmin Sat Nav - are the maps user upgradeable or dealer only? 4 - Can I install Apple CarPlay and Android Auto? Any other pointers would be most welcome. Thank you.

Hi, folks. Adding to the To Do List on my 2.2 with 147k on it. I've a terrible worksheet to get thru on this. Currently looking at removing the EGR valve. I've managed to get a small peek and it's absolutely caked. Just amatter of time before a code appears. Slight hesitation from stationary or low speed. It goes like a rocket, but seems EGR is the problem. Any advice on removal please? Thanks.

Has anyone replaced/cleaned the EGR valve on the 2.2 DTEC engine? It looks like an absolute **** of a job. Can it be done from the top or does the exhaust need to come off? Its a rusty mess that will end up with sheared bolts if I even look at them the wrong way!

hi Honda folk, Can anyone help me tack down a workshop manual for my vehicle? Mr Haynes is no help, and I don't trust the various ebay offerings as none of them look specific enough to be any good. Can anyone make any suggestions please? Many thanks!

Hi I purchased a 2009 crv 2.2 cdti. 118000 miles on the clock with service history. Clutch was replaced 2 years ago. I have a problem when i change gear from 1st to 2nd and 3rd to 2nd, the car shudders, then goes, every other gear is fine and clutch doesnt seem to slip. The rear diff has been flushed out and refilled as it needed it. Any ideas greatly appreciated. Thanks Richie

Hello. I have seen a previous post regarding a leaky boot and the spare tyre well filling up. Before I start tearing the rear apart, has anyone actually found the ingress point yet? Seems to be quite common but no online solution as yet. Thanks all.

Hi I’m having issues with the brakes on my 2010 crv, hoping someone might be able to shed some light as to what to look at. When braking the pedal goes straight to the board with little or no resistance, it slowly brakes. If I pump the brake in preparation to brake then I get resistance and it brakes sooner. Brake pipes have been checked for leaks, fluid is ok, mechanic isn’t sure what to try next, he’s thinking master cylinder on the servo or abs pump so I’m trying to help him do a bit of research to see if either have any particular problems or if it’s possibly something else. Has anyone experienced this problem before? All help and advice appreciated thanks

Hi, The front nearside parking sensor on my 2011 CRV went wrong - dashboard displayed Check System and indicated which sensor was faulty. I replaced the sensor - the problem changed but did not go away. Now I do not get any faulty sensor indications - but as soon as I drop below 5mph - even if nothing within 100 metres of the car - the dashboard indicates that there is an obstacle close by - in other words the sensor reacts. Is there a way of rebooting the system, or maybe the sensor control module is faulty? I have seen these for sale but cannot find where they are located on the car - no mention in any manual I can find. Any suggestions would be appreciated Ma…

Hello everyone! I'm trying to trace an oil leak on our 2011 Honda CRV with 375Tkm on the clock. It has been parked in the garage for the last couple of years as my wife upgraded to a newer vehicle, and I've been keeping this one as a backup. Well, it's time to retire my current beater and upgrade to this beauty, so I'll finally have to figure out where the oil is going. 🙂 The engine had been leaking oil for the last little while that she drove it, but it would only leak if the engine was running; hence, it never left any oil spots on the driveway. A shop told me it was the oil pan gasket, but I think it is coming from somewhere higher. It looks lik…

Can anybody recommend a source for a good service/repair/workshop manual for my South African 2014 CR-V 2.0 litre petrol A/T RHD FWD with R20A engine ? The Haynes/Clymer/Chilton manuals are written for the American models with 1,8 and 2,4 engines but I suspect your UK models are similar to our SA models.

Hello, First post here. I'll introduce myself fully but I need to get this sorted. Had my CR-V for about a year and I'm loving it. On Saturday the Car cut out while stopped in traffic. All electrics went so no hazards or steering. After 5-10 minutes it all powered back up and started as if nothing had happened. It then happened again on Tuesday night when I pulled into my drive. 11 minutes timed this time. Then restarted. I've had it with an auto-electrician today. No errors showing. Not even registering that it has been powered a loss of power. Battery, Fuses, Clutch Checked. Not sure about Ignition Switch (Not sure how this works with keyless entry/s…

Hi All, New to the forum here, but am looking for a little help, just wondering who can tell me what's missing from the passenger side (behind the front bumper) My CRV (2015 MkIV I-Dtec 1.6 SE-T) took a bit of a knock to the O/S and the pics below are a result of the damage, can anyone let me know what's missing as parts weren't with the car when I collected from towing company. Looks to be either a A/C Condenser or Turbo Intercooler but there appears to be something missing from in front of it. Image 1: this is the connection, with nothing to connect to. also, need to replace the frame holding the ?intercooler? anyone have any pa…

Hi, my car drives lovely but draws me to ask about the auto gear selection and if this is typical with other like model owners. When cruising on a motorway at 70mph on a level road the car sits in 8th gear at around 1800 rpm and if on a slight gradient it drops to 7th. I don’t seem to experience it using 9th gear for cruising. If I sneek up to around 80 mph, It appears I still have to manually select 9th with the paddles, it will then change up to 9th but unless going downhill it soon goes back to 8th. Is this how the car is designed to run in regards to the gears and 9th not being used when at our national speed limit? I have contacted Honda and oddly, they dont know …
