My 2005 FR-V has a leak where water is getting into the footwell. I saw a YouTube video that showed water getting in where a gland on a cable had come out but my problem seems to be the strip on the right hand side of the windshield that seals it. I can see water coming in through the door seal just below the little triangle shaped window is. I pulled the carpet up and left it like that for now!! I think the part is number 13 on here https://www.amayama.com/en/catalogs/honda/fr-v/1-van-3-left-be-2005-447/body-parts-6/molding-2429 but it's not easy to find an actual part. Any alternative ideas as to how I could seal that side a different…

Hello Just wanted to share my experience. 2006 Honda FR-V, 2.0L petrol. Started to get this code coming up. At first I ignored it for a while hoping it was a one-off (there was also another possibly unrelated fault as well that was also causing the yellow light to come on). I decided to investigate it so I had the mechanic reset it and within 15mins it had already come back on again, before I had even gone home. Seeing that the part from Honda costs around £150 I ordered this one from eBay and asked my mechanic to fit it. Two days later the light came back on again. I am not sure that the above is as genuine as it seemed…

Hi. Does anyone know where I can get a bottom ball joint for my Honda 2.2ctdi FRV 2006? I was told by Honda that I couldn't buy just the ball joint and would have to buy the complete hub carrier for nearly £300. I ended up doing this for the drivers side (crying as I did so) but now the passenger side will soon need replacing and I am loathe to do so again. I have the old ball joint from the driver's side in my hand so I know it does separate from the hub carrier. Has anyone else had this problem and been able to overcome it? 🤞 It's not the sort of part that I want to get from a breakers because it would undoubtedly have wear issues too. Hoping someone will be able to hel…

Hello does anybody know where the PGM FI relay is ? Iv got a 2005 1.7 FR V that iv just replaced the head gasket and all the belts on. It worked fine for 20 miles or so, making various stops for shopping and then on the motorway it just cut out and wont start at all. Theres spark from the plugs and fuel is pumping to the injector rail but they're not firing. apparently the PGM FI relay is a common fault on Hondas and when they fail either the fuel pump stops working or the injectors. The pump is pumping. So i just need to find it and test it or swap it with the one in my other FRV which the clutch has gone on. Iv looked on both fuse boards plus looked behind the glove box…

Hi. I'm having an issue with my car not that's not starting. Had a problem for a few months now. I would turn the key and it wouldn't immediately start. I could hear the crank sound. I'd have to hold the key forward and it would start after several seconds. Then it completely died. I've had 3 people look at it. The first person from a local garage bought a battery incase it was the battery but he said it wasn't. Lights were coming on etc. The second person from a different garage I recovered it to changed the starter motor thinking that was the issue. That got the car working. However, a few days later, the same problem star…

As Per the title really, car was working fine until Saturday morning..occasionally over the last year or so on a handful of occasions had the passenger door failed to open. But a double press on the fob and we were all ok again. Friday it was fine, on Saturday morning however things did not go to plan. Went to open the car, and nothing on the passenger door unlocked and relocked the car with the fob multiple times, but still no good. I've managed to remove the interior door card, and get to the actuator but of course the whole thing is one effing sealed unit isn't it, and without being able to open the door I can't remove the bolts inside the door to remo…

Hi Guys, So at the end of the road really and getting to the point of scrapping the car. It's a 2008 2.2 Diesel FRV 110k. I've had this hot start issue for a couple of years and last time the mobile mechanic that came out couldn't really give me a definitive answer. The battery used to go flat as well, put it down to short journeys. Anyway few years on I decided I had enough and started putting money in getting it looked at. The problem simply is the car starts fine early in the morning but after a good run and it's warmed it hesitates to start, needs bit of a prolonged start and gives a judder. When the start gets really bad the P0039 e…

Hello all. I have a Honda FRV 2.2 CDTI Sport. 56 plate. I saw a video recently of a CRV and a civic where the owners attach a relay / module to the driver side Electric window/side mirror control panel. He was then able to fold /unfold the side mirrors via the remote key fob and also the Windows with the key fob (Global open /closure). Can this be done with the FRV? THANKS IN ADVANCE.

Hello all, I am out of ideas and hoping someone can share their ideas and suggestions. I have an 2008 FR-V 2.2 diesel with under 120k miles but for last couple of years it has been hardly used. I replaced all four brake discs and pads as first thing due all brakes being very rusty, only noticing driver side rear calliper was a bit stiff but managed to compress all cylinders without excessive force. Went on to the road and the stiff calliper started to smell badly and brake disc turned darkish (obvious overheat). I naturally thought calliper seized, so took it apart but only found seal slightly trapped (fitted improperly). May I also note all four c…

Hi, our lovely Honda FRV 2.2 diesel is having difficulty getting in first and second gear. Sometimes you have to dip the clutch 2 or 3 times to select the correct gear. Any thoughts or opinions welcomed?

Hi there everyone, a few years ago I replace one of the o-rings on the power steering pump as the fluid was bubbling and getting a whining sound when driving. This resolved the issue then but this has now come back and I can't find the part number anywhere. Does anyone have this please? It was an orange o-ring. Thanks

Hi everyone, I have an issue with my FRV where the central locking won't open unless I press the key fob several times. I hear the noise and interior lights turn on but quickly go off and all the doors and boot remain locked. After several presses it eventually opens, when it does the noise (possibly an actuator) is slightly different. Any thoughts?

So I have this issue that unlock function doesn't always work. Or more like works once in 10-20 attempts. Its the same if you use fob or key in the handle, it turns easily and actuates the doors but then immediately locks again. Once unlocked it locks fine. Is it drivers door lock mechanism that's failing?

Hello all. I’m a fairly new Honda owner but have inherited a 1.8 FRV from a family member. There is major play in the NSF wheel which I have narrowed down to a bad wheel bearing (after changing all ball joints, tie rod ends, drop links and wishbones!). I want to change the hub assembly along with the bearing. But damn! They are hard to find at a good price! The part number is 44600-S7A-000. Will any others fit from other Hondas does anyone know??? I refuse to pay over £100 for something that costs £30 on other Hondas (including the 2.2 FRV). TIA for any help. Any pointers are greatly appreciated

Hi guys, I've been having trouble with fitting a ball joint to a new suspension arm on the NSF of my 1.8 ES. I bought the part from Eurocarparts as I needed it quickly due to being driving to Wales the next day. However after some serious play in the steering, I thought it was a cheap and nasty ball joint so bought another. Same thing again.....I then looked at the wheel bearing and hub, and upon removal of the knuckle and the suspension arm (while they were still connected by the ball joint), I realise that the ball joint is too small for the bore hole in the suspension arm! The "fitment details" tab on Eurocarparts website doesnt say anything other than "Ho…

Hi Folks, hopfully this topic hasn't been covered, My 06' FRV Rear Hatch Struts (this part 04741-SJD-000) are fairly squeeky and have lost a bit of their lifting power. My question is has anyone replaced their rear hatch struts? And specifically can you just replace the strut or do I need to replace the fixing brackets too? Thanks in advance 👍🏻

Hi. My Honda is making a noise around the fan belt drives. It seems a lot louder than usual. The only things that have happened are that I recharged the air con, which now is lovely and cold. But then the battery drained a few hours later. Well tbh it kinda started turning off during driving when I slowed down. Later I had to attempt a battery to battery jump start, but the car battery jumped back to life the second I connected the leads. The next day the battery was dead again. I did the same and drive for a few hours. But the engine sounds loud. After an hour I stopped. Then came back to car and as I pulled out, the…
