  1. Started by Attila,

Hi Everyone, I am a new member of the forum and I am struggling to find out the real reason of an electrical issue with my FR-V. Long story short, the remote central locking block got broken about a year ago, I was told it was worth to use the key only to lock-unlock the car as fixing the block would cost an arm and a leg. There was a deadlock in the doors a few month ago that has been fixed by replacing the 10A door lock fuse (fuse number 22 in the passanger room) with a 15A one. The doorlocks sometimes turn on or off randomly without using the car key. That happens when I unlock the door but sometimes when driving. Since yesterday, if I unlock the d…

Just had a regas on the air con and discovered for following issue Air con was desperate for regas so had it done. Use to work fine last year despite not super cold due to needing the regas. however after regas it’s playing up. When sat on idle everything is engaged and the compressor is spinning but no cold air. But when you apply some revs after a while idling it’s goes super cold for a few seconds but then starts to warm back up. I have removed pollen filters which were a bit old, garage has told me pump is dead. But I’m struggling with this has the pump is spinning at idle but not cooling, and when revs are applied it wakes up and cools for a f…

  4. Hello all, Just got back from a failed MOT and I need to sort the Drivers side Mirror indicator. It was cracked and was an advisory for years but now it has packed in. Am I right in thinking its not a bulb but a sealed unit like my mk8 civic was? Local motor factors cant help but Honda want £100 for an indicator 😞 Cant seem to find any replacements anywhere. Any advice appreciated. I fear it may be a complete unit off eBay if I cant just get the "flashing" bit 🙂 Thanks.

Hi Folks, hopfully this topic hasn't been covered, My 06' FRV Rear Hatch Struts (this part 04741-SJD-000) are fairly squeeky and have lost a bit of their lifting power. My question is has anyone replaced their rear hatch struts? And specifically can you just replace the strut or do I need to replace the fixing brackets too? Thanks in advance 👍🏻

Hi, our lovely Honda FRV 2.2 diesel is having difficulty getting in first and second gear. Sometimes you have to dip the clutch 2 or 3 times to select the correct gear. Any thoughts or opinions welcomed?

  7. Hi, I'm new to the forum but not new to Hondas. We have had 3 Hondas over the past 20 years or so, a Civic Type-R and two Jazz's but we are looking for a cheap car with 6+ seats for family staycations and driving trips in Europe. I'm looking at the FRV 1.8 manual and was wondering if anyone can give me some advice on what to look out for. My main concern is it breaking down while I'm on holiday or having to spend lots of money fixing it after I've driven it away. Most of the FRVs I've seen so far are well in excess of 100,000miles and 98% of them are still using their original clutch - is this a problem? How long does the original clutch tend to …

  9. Right so I bought this car three months ago its sat on and off. Changed the Oil, A+O + C Filter, Window Switch, Regulator. Then I had noise on power steering and froth. Changed gaskets and flushed with Honda fluids. Noises still on Aux acceleration. Changed Aux Idler pulley, and tensioner as noisey. (Well mechanic did) But I still have noise on the belt side on intial pull. Noticed movement in pulley itself. No clue what pulley it is or what to put into replace? Video below. Thought I'd try here as Facebook groups are dead when it comes to FR-V's. https://youtu.be/Os8L0rOVxrU Some slight audible clacking too every…

I have a 2006 FR-V 1.7 Petrol V-Tec (D17A2 engine) . I had to replace the crankshaft all back together but the green immobiliser light comes on. The engine cranks, but will not fire - no spark. The fuel pump primes - but the plugs are dry so no fuel getting to the cylinders. I replaced the battery in the key fob I checked the Immobiliser fuse under the dash and that is OK. Is there anything I have missed? Is there a wiring diagram for the immobiliser circuit anywhere? Thanks in advance for any help

My good lady parked our FRV, went shopping came back and it just wont start. so far I have tried The inertia cut out switch - seems ok Changed the fuel rail pressure regulator valve Changed the fuel rail pressure sensor valve So the symptoms are that when monitoring live data the Fuel Rail Pressure only goes up to 65 to 90 PSI with the old pressure sensor valve but the new valve shows nothing Oddly the old pressure sensor shows 30PSI even when connected in to an empty fuel rail Today I changed the high pressure fuel pump but still no change I am obviously missing something that's staring me in the face. Does any one have any good…

Hi Folks, Im looking for advice on a good clutch kit for my '06 1.7 ltr Petrol FRV. I've looked and LUK and Edix has been mentioned to me, but I'm thinking of upgrading the clutch to maybe somthing like this: https://www.akr-performance.com/p/act-clutch-kit-heavy-duty-20t212mm-performance-street-sprung-disc-hc5-hdss. Has anyone upgraded their FRV clutch and or would anyone have any advice or suggestions on the brand/type to go for? Thanks, Anthony

So I have this issue that unlock function doesn't always work. Or more like works once in 10-20 attempts. Its the same if you use fob or key in the handle, it turns easily and actuates the doors but then immediately locks again. Once unlocked it locks fine. Is it drivers door lock mechanism that's failing?

  19. Hello Unfortunately I've recently had my catalytic converter stolen from a 2006, 2.0L petrol FR-V. They also made a mess of the floor when they jacked it up 😠. Anyway looking to try to repair it and I'm wondering if the cheapest catalytic converter (seems to be made by EuroFlow) is up to the job? And there seems to be several brands of sensors - FuelParts, Cambiare, Blue Print. Just wondering if anyone has any experience with these? Does the Euroflow exhaust work well with the FuelParts sensors? Is it likely to trigger the engine MIL or MOT failure? Thanks in advance for any experience that you can share.

  20. Started by FRV London,

After 15 years of owning the FR-V in London, my catalytic converter was stolen yesterday. Really pissed off. Having seen a post from here the uk.hondaownersclub.com. I've bought a replacement from https://catman.co.uk/ I'm not a mechanic, so hopefully it will have all the bits I need. Then its just another waiting game, as it might get stolen again. Is this be coming more common?

  21. Started by Anthony,

Right so lads another random question/topic on the Honda FRV. Has anyone ever installed bull bars (push bars) to the front bumper of their FRV? Also will a bull bar from say an '06 CRV fit the FRV? I'm told both are based on the same frame so thinking they might fit?..

Hi all, I have a 2005 1.7 FRV. A while back I had a sudden window issue, the drivers window switch works perfectly but all other windows won’t work from either the master unit or the door switches. I’m feeling the power window lock button has failed in the unit, all fuses fine, I did have to use this regularly as I had young twins playing with the windows, however I want to get the windows going again. I’m happy to fit a new unit before spending the amount I want to ask if anyone has had this issue and what the resolution was, or anyone who has the knowledge to point me right

Hello, just joined forum, and recently bought FRV 2.2 diesel. I have noticed the engine takes an age to warm up, more so as the weather is getting colder. I believe the thermostat is either stuck open or is missing completely. I have bought a new thermostat, but looking in the engine bay I cannot see the housing. I think it is under the EGR valve somewhere. Could I access the thermostat from underneath if I removed the plastic engine shield? Any info greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi Folks, great forum on here, and I'm hoping you guys can help me out, my question is, can I fit (the Honda factory fit) roof rails to an FRV that's doesn't have them? i.e. I'm looking at buying an FRV currently choosing between two models; a 2006 (low milage) or a 2009 (high milage). Im leaning towards the low milage 2006 model but I will need roof rails and the 2006 doesn't have them, so are roof rails somthing I can fit after the fact? Thanks in advance!

Hi Lads, Im probably going to get lots of biased opinions posting here but I wanted to guage if there is an appetite for bringing the FRV back? I love my FRV but is kinda old and falling apart and I would absolutely love to see one in a new or near-new condition (unfortunately there is none in Ireland). Also with the popularity of cross overs "SUV's" I think with a little style change and slightly higher suspension the FRV would make the absolute megga cross over?!? So, any opinions?? Is there any other FRV fans out there and if so, how many? 🤓🤓
