  1. My 2006 Honda FR-V, 2.0l petrol has failed MOT with an exhaust leak, co content exceeding limits and lambda outside limits. My mechanic has pointed to the centre silencer, which is leaking at the joint with the rear section of the exhaust. Four years ago, I replaced the exhaust center silencer box with a pattern brand (EuroFlo) - I can't remember if as the OEM spare part was even available at that time. Is it normal for this component to wear out so quickly? I'm still using the original OEM exhaust for the rear section and that has lasted for 18 years and 100,000 miles without issues, whereas the replacement has failed after just four years. …

I have a 2006 FR-V 1.7 Petrol V-Tec (D17A2 engine) . I had to replace the crankshaft all back together but the green immobiliser light comes on. The engine cranks, but will not fire - no spark. The fuel pump primes - but the plugs are dry so no fuel getting to the cylinders. I replaced the battery in the key fob I checked the Immobiliser fuse under the dash and that is OK. Is there anything I have missed? Is there a wiring diagram for the immobiliser circuit anywhere? Thanks in advance for any help

  3. Hi my FRV won't start once it's done a run. It starts 1st thing. Then I drive to a destination and park. When I go to leave, it won't start again. Ive had loads of checks to the engine but nothing can be found. I've had all new filters fitted, new oil change. I've also spent out on new battery, starter motor, 4 new injectors even. Still same problem. Its cost me a lot of money, which I've spent cos I like the car. But I still can't find the problem to get it fixed. Any ideas please?

Hey Folks, Can anyone advise me on how to fix my 06 1.7ltrs petrol FRV radiotor in place. Was poking around the engine bay the other day and noticed the radiator is sitting loose, looks like some on doing repairs in the past never fixed all the screws back in place. Would anyone have pics or info on where/what screws/bolts should be holding the radiator in place?

Hello I have a 2006 FRV with the 2.2 diesel engine. 125k miles. Today the car took several attempts to start. Before it fired it was just a fairly quiet whirring sound and no cranking or turning over. Then it fired ok. Is this an obvious problem/fix? I am really not a car person but does this mean starter motor is done for? All advice very gratefully received

Hi there everyone, a few years ago I replace one of the o-rings on the power steering pump as the fluid was bubbling and getting a whining sound when driving. This resolved the issue then but this has now come back and I can't find the part number anywhere. Does anyone have this please? It was an orange o-ring. Thanks

Hello all. I’m a fairly new Honda owner but have inherited a 1.8 FRV from a family member. There is major play in the NSF wheel which I have narrowed down to a bad wheel bearing (after changing all ball joints, tie rod ends, drop links and wishbones!). I want to change the hub assembly along with the bearing. But damn! They are hard to find at a good price! The part number is 44600-S7A-000. Will any others fit from other Hondas does anyone know??? I refuse to pay over £100 for something that costs £30 on other Hondas (including the 2.2 FRV). TIA for any help. Any pointers are greatly appreciated

Hi. My Honda is making a noise around the fan belt drives. It seems a lot louder than usual. The only things that have happened are that I recharged the air con, which now is lovely and cold. But then the battery drained a few hours later. Well tbh it kinda started turning off during driving when I slowed down. Later I had to attempt a battery to battery jump start, but the car battery jumped back to life the second I connected the leads. The next day the battery was dead again. I did the same and drive for a few hours. But the engine sounds loud. After an hour I stopped. Then came back to car and as I pulled out, the…

Hi all, have a FR-V 2006 CDTI, and need to work out the location of the power window relay. Can anyone help (no power windows, so I'm guessing it's a common point of failure)? Thanks, Ian

My 2007 Honda FRV has a leak in the heater core making passenger footwell wet. Also strong smell of antifreeze coolant and windows steam up. Am looking to replace the heater matrix with a new one. Labour is approx 5 hours so used heater matrix with 90days warrenty is not ideal. New part has a year warrenty. Unfortunately Honda have the heater matrix on back order until May 2024 and none are in stock! Does anyone know the part details or if this part is shared with another Honda. Have found a company to manufacturer a new radiator but I need to send them a photo with details.

  16. Hi, I'm new to the forum but not new to Hondas. We have had 3 Hondas over the past 20 years or so, a Civic Type-R and two Jazz's but we are looking for a cheap car with 6+ seats for family staycations and driving trips in Europe. I'm looking at the FRV 1.8 manual and was wondering if anyone can give me some advice on what to look out for. My main concern is it breaking down while I'm on holiday or having to spend lots of money fixing it after I've driven it away. Most of the FRVs I've seen so far are well in excess of 100,000miles and 98% of them are still using their original clutch - is this a problem? How long does the original clutch tend to …

Hi everyone, had a FR-V for a week now, 2.2 diesel, 103 k miles, plenty of history. Anyway, OSF front brake seems to be binding and getting slightly hotter than the other side, it's not as bad since I've cleaned everything, greased the slide pins, rotated the piston and pushed it back and put a bit of brake fluid under the dust seal. I might have to puta caliper on if it doesn't settle down. Looking at the history it has niffin brakes on the back and sumitomo on the front, is this normal? Also i can't find a sumitomo replacement caliper. Coxs honda lancaster say they aren't available anymore. I take it i need to fit a sumitomo caliper as a niffin wouldn't fit? …

Hello, haven't owned by frv long, it's a 2.2 diesel. Garage said injectors were leaking so changed all 4, still the car will not start. If we spray easy start into it it starts right away and drives absolutely fine. Any ideas I would be very grateful

Hi, My FRV car alarm is constantly sounding. The key fob locks and unlocks the doors, and the car can be driven, but the alarm keeps on sounding intermittently. The car alarm must have drained the battery, which has been replaced. I have changed the batteries on the key fob, and tried disconnecting the sensor attached to the bonnet mechanism/ lock. Nothing seems to work. If anyone has encountered this, and can suggest a fix, I'd be very very grateful! Thanks

What is the best way to dispose of an FRV Mot failure? scrap yard pays £150 Back garden breaking for spares sounds arduous Wrexham

  21. The night before taking the FR-V for the MOT, I decided to check everything over as I haven't had much opportunity lately, and I found that a sidelight was out in the front O/S headlight. I was going to tweak the rear parking brake adjustment as I had new brake pads put in recently and they've bedded in - that's not going to happen now as I haven't got time, so hopefully it's all OK for the MOT - I'll find out in about 11 hours. Anyway, it's only a sidelight, so 5 to 10 minute job??? Not a chance - unless you've got really bendy wrists, very small hands, and long fingers that grip like a vice. Failing that, a bit of tenacity and some patience - and patience is one th…

Hi all, my wife has an FR-V which the blower motor packed up on. I tried the regulator first but it turned out the fan was broken so I sourced a replacement which is working. The controls on the dash increase and drop the fan speed fine. The issue is that we're not getting any air out of the screen demist vents or any of the cabin facing vents - sides , middle or downward. I've taken the filters out behind the glovebox and am getting good airflow there. I can see the flaps opening when I put the screen fan on and cycling through the downward and forward facing options see the actuators changing. I have spotted 3 of them and all seem to be operating. Can…

Hi ! I'm in the UK and have a Honda FRV 2005. So basically my heater blower has stopped working. I have replaced the resister pack and that has not fixed it. The fuse is fine too. So now I am trying to replace the actual blower motor itself. I have unscrewed the 3 screws holding it in place but it cannot drop down far enough for me to pull it out because the ECU is in the way. So, now I need to remove the ECU from its casing, which is directly below the blower. Once this is removed there will be enough room for the blower to drop down. There are 2 screws/bolts at the front of the ECU, one on each side, I have taken these off however there is something else …

Hi All. Are there any Service.Workshop Manual`s available for the FR-V? (2006 2.2 Diesel). Thanks. Karl.

  25. Hello all, Just got back from a failed MOT and I need to sort the Drivers side Mirror indicator. It was cracked and was an advisory for years but now it has packed in. Am I right in thinking its not a bulb but a sealed unit like my mk8 civic was? Local motor factors cant help but Honda want £100 for an indicator 😞 Cant seem to find any replacements anywhere. Any advice appreciated. I fear it may be a complete unit off eBay if I cant just get the "flashing" bit 🙂 Thanks.
