Hi Gents, need advice! I need help here, I hate how my 2.0 petrol (R20A3) engine sounds, well if I can even say "sounds" as the engine is as quiet as a Nissan Leaf! I would be ever so grateful if anyone would point me in the right direction, either someone who has installed a cold air intake to a 2.0 or if not, which air intake to buy? Note: The engine seems to be really similar, if not the same, to my previous 1.8 civic (R18A2) engine I had. Please see attached.

Hi, I've just bought my first Honda. Its a 2009 accord EX diesel auto tourer and I was really impressed with it on the test drive. Unfortunately it only has one key which is looking rather worn. For peace of mind I want a new spare key. It is the 3 button key with tailgate open / close, and ideally I'd like the new key to be a pop up flip key. I'm from Huddersfield but travel into Greater Manchester / Lancashire every week so I'm quite happy to travel if I have to? I've been phoning around and the best quote so far is £110 for a cut and programmed key. Does this sound reasonable or do any of you know a better place to try?? Cheers Alastair

Have a 2011 type S tourer. There's an odd rattling noise when pulling from low revs. Most noticeable when engaging the clutch. For example I can hold the brake and bring the clutch to the bite point and I hear it. Reminds me of a noise from a loose heat shield on an old car. The fact that it does it in all forward gears but not reverse makes me think it could be a gearbox problem. Anyone any ideas?

  10. Can anyone identify the noise? It almost sounds like injectors but the tapping/ticking noise seems to be too loud? Is this normal? Only thing I can think of is maybe I'm due a valve adjustment?

Hello, newbie here so apologies if its been asked before. I have a 2009 model Honda Accord, and have owned it for the last 9 years. Its an absolute beast, never let me down. It would seem now though, with nearly 210k on the clock, that the air con pump has failed. My question is, does anyone here know if a pump off the earlier Accord model will fit, or would one off a Civic or CR-V? I'm really struggling to get one off the model I have, hence the question. There's loads of CR-V and Civics about in the scrapyard but no Accords. Looked at a few pictures online of different pumps from varying models and can't seem to see much difference. Any help greatly appreciated.

Went to buy a 2009 accord 2.2 139k But it has this warning it drives OK Has no engine management light a cheap obd tool didn't say anything But it seems to relate to fuel injection system. I can't take it to a garage as its not my car the car is priced accordingly . Could this be a real headache should I stay clear or u think it will be something fairly manageable in your experience of hondas Thanks in advance There is very little regarding this on Google

Hello, I've joined this group in the hope that someone can help me diagnose and fix a problem with my 2010 honda Type S when accelerating between 40-50mph my car vibrates from the front passenger side. Wheel alignment checked, Wheels checked and swapped, tyres changed too, yet the issue persists. Has anyone suffered from similar and if so how did you fix it? I'm starting to think it could be driveshaft related. Thanks for taking your time to read this, I'd as appreciate any feedback.

  14. Hi everyone, new to the forum. I have an 09 2.4i Accord Manual which I've owned nearing 3 years now, and have loved the car, really fun, great engine. For a good few months now its developed a horrible shaking/vibration when accelerating past 45-50mph, more noticeable going up any type of hill, its really horrible when I look at the passenger seat to see it shaking. In the last few months, it's had 4 wheel alignment done, recently noticed the driver side wheel was missing its weights so thought that might have been the culprit, turned out I needed new front tyres anyway so had them changed and still the vibrating/shaking continues. …

Hi, I'm after a suggestion for a cost effective decent OBD reader device that will tell me the engine management symbol codes on my Honda Accord? The engine light came on for a few hours today while travelling in Wales. Strangely it went off when we got back into England. Car seemed to drive as normal with no obvious symptoms. But before I take it to the garage I'd like to check what it might be related to...A) in case I can DIY a fix and B) so I don't get taken for a ride by the garage.

I've been using a 2009 Accord Tourer i-DTEC now for some 3+ years. I bought it with very high mileage, a blown EGR and faulty air-con for a cheap price to fix up. Generally - I've been very pleased with it apart from the headlights. The plastic fogs up horribly and I got an advisory at the last MOT for those lens covers. I am fairly handy with cars - but the headlight bulb replacement has just left me open mouthed. What ... IDIOT ... designed the main headlight and side trafficator bulbs to be SO inaccessible that you have to dismantle the front end of the car to change them? Like....??!! Was the design engineer on the bong that day or something? Is there any clever way …

I have a 2011 type S, the stupid auto levelling headlights are a nuisance especially on these dark nights. If I'm parked up stationary then the lights come up high and if I jump on and off the tow bar they adjust accordingly. But when I'm driving they just go to their fully dipped no matter what so I can only see about 4m down the road. Anyone know what to try? Testing resistance on the sensors or something? If not can I unplug them when I get them in a good position? Which plug would it be? TIA
