Good afternoon all, I’ve recently been told my clutch actuator is “beyond repair” as the circuit is too damaged. Would anyone on here have a second-hand one or know where to purchase it? its for a 2006 Civic EX 1.8

  2. Hi Good evening, would like some advice please... so few weeks ago changing gear was getting harder and harder and was grinding gears so took it into a garage who replaced the clutch master cylinder said it was leaking and had no fluid in biting point is really low to the ground but no clutch slippage. 2 weeks on biting point is still pretty low to the floor and sometimes still grinds putting it into a gear its much better than it was but still occasional, also the gear lever in general feels like it could go in and out of gears a bit easier not the smoothest ... anyone any ideas?? does it need a clutch adjustment or gearbox oil change…

Can anyone help. My 2007 2.2 diesel type s decided to play up when I needed to get to work. I started to clear the frost my windscreen came back to it 15 minutes later and noticed alll the dash lights are on and the dash flickering and getting brighter as I rev it. The steering wheel was locked in place and the power steering warning light on. It had been fine the day before and the battery is less than 18 months old. I have gone back to the car just a second ago all the dash is on and still flickering radio works but now it won't start. My mechanic is in bed with man flu is there anything I can try in the mean time? Many thanks

  5. Hi Stupid newbie question....Just looking at buying a 2008 civic which is listed as sequential manual. I have also seen sequential autos and wondered if these are different or if they are just different names for the ISHIFT system? MY missis doesn't want to drive an auto or semi auto and I have heard that the I SHIFT system can be problematic? Ta in advance!

Hi there, I've wanted to change the head unit in my 2014 Honda Civic to something a little bit more modern. I took the car to Halfords as they seemed to be good value. However, they tried installing the stereo only to find that the stereo would turn itself off after about a minute or so. They tried two different units (Kenwood and Pioneer) and the same thing happened. In the end I think they just gave up as they didn't know what the issue was. Apparently they tried a few cables too, to no avail. Thankfully, I was not charged for anything. Does anyone know why this might happen? The standard stereo works fine, so doesn't seem to be a power issue (or a cabling issue?). …

Hey everyone. I just bought a used 2014 Honda civic. When I start the car up after leaving it for an extended period of time (like in the morning or after a 12 hour shift at work), the cruise control won't work and the green arrows for shift up and down don't show. The only way to get it to work that I have found is to turn the car off and back on again. The problem only occurs after the car is off for extended periods. Is this an issue? What causes this and can it be fixed?

  11. Greetings all, My first post here, I've signed up as I need help locating the knock sensor on my I-CTDI 2.2 diesel 2009 civic. The Haynes manual only says that for ALL 8th gen models the sensor is behind the inlet manifold in plain sight. However it is not. And it's not anywhere nearby as far as I can see. What's more, I can find absolutely zero info/threads/videos about knock sensors on diesel civics, total zilch. Not one mention. Which leads me to the question - do they even have knock sensors?! But they must, as the car has been throwing up the error code for faulty knock sensor and the car…

I have a '61 reg 1.8 Civic ES . I want to buy a space saver wheel to replace the repair kit , which is date-expired anyway . The car has 17" alloys fitted , and on the face of things I can find lots of space-saver wheels on Ebay etc . However , I have seen references to wheels not fitting cars with the larger backplates , and mine has these . How do I ascertain that a given wheel will fit over my large backplates ? What is the spec I need to look for ? Thanks hopefully ..........

Hi, my Speedo on my 2011 Civic 2.3 cdti is playing up. It'll be fine then it will start flashing 888 or more commonly you can see 888 in the background but still see the actual speed as its brighter. A new speedo is in the region of £700 from Honda. My questions are:- anyone know if there's a way to try and fix it and if not there's lots of second hand ones listed on ebay. They all seem to a different E numbers. Will one from a early manufacture still work in mine? Thanks for your help. Mags

I have tried to pin down the type of auto transmission fluid filter I need for my 2011 Civic auto 1.8 i-VTEC. There appears to be different types but all listed as suitable replacements. Has anyone else come across this. Also will replacing the old fluid increase the mpg as it is pretty poor. If not are there any suggestions as to improving the mpg. I am not a heavy footed driver! Any advice would be very much appreciated. Pete

  15. Joining here because the only key that we have to my partners car has stopped working. The electronic part, that is. We can still drive it, but the alarm is constantly on. I've bought a new, blank key and have seen many Youtube videos telling me that I can sync the new key to the car, but none of them seem to work. Anyone know if it really is possible to sync a new key? Martin

Thinking about a 2012 Civic automatic. A couple of queries:- What are the headlights like. It may seem an odd question but on some cars the later LED or HID units are so much better than Halogen bulbs. Are Civic Halogen, LED or HID? Also are there any issues or problems with the auto boxes? I would also like some of the modern safety features such as Autonomous Emergency Braking but I am bnot sure which Hondas have that and what year that was introduced?

I have bought an automatic civic 5 door 1.8 i-VTEC SE registered 30.03/2011. Since owning this car it was unable to start after 20 minutes of having the ignition on whilst checking the dashboard with the manual. Yet when I tried again 10 minutes later it started first time. Next the remote could not activate the lock to allow entry so I had to use the key. Then the radio decided to refuse to work and defaulted to AUX but it would not turn on and none of the buttons worked. Yet 4 days later it worked fine. The following day the remote unlocked the door but the radio is not working again. I contacted a Honda dealer who said it was a battery problem and I might h…

I have a 2015 Civic. Using the Source button on the steering wheel I scroll through the audio options. When I reach the DAB option the audio continues with the previous option, medium wave. All other options work normally. Trouble is the DAB option is the one I use most. Any help would be appreciated.
