A little Tip for dried out rubber gromets or window seals, a good size can of Halfords Silicone Spray for £ 4.99 does the trick and worth giving rubber seals a good spray in this hot weather when the rubber does tend to dry out and could deteriorate more quickly and also a good lubricant for other car parts except of course Brake parts or Steering assembly which should be common sense not to use any lubricant on. other than that, follow the instructions on the can and get rid of those nasty squeaks as well on the car. Best Wishes BAZZER RN 1

Good evening fellow Hondeers. I am currently broken hearted at the discovery of a circular scratch on the front passenger door after only 2 weeks of owning my beautiful CR-V. I was recommended Meguairs Scratch X 2.0 at my local Halfords as I can't feel the scratch with my fingernail. I'm afraid of permanently damaging the paintwork though. Does anyone have any experience of using this? It cost a tenner but I'll bin it if I have to. A local body shop said I'd be looking at about £120 which I think is a bit steep! Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have a 2019 Civic 1.0 turbo and the ACC cruise control system keeps stopping working. I get quite a few orange warning lights about cruise control, lane divergence etc. I also am getting a flat spot when depressing the accelerator pedal. This occurs when trying to pull away from a crawling speed at lights, roundabouts etc. Anyone else had similar problems, please?

Hi everybody. New on here and looking for a bit of advice. 2010 Civic Type S 2.2. Had air con problems for a while, various garages have regassed, changed a couple of valves, but recently it's never been anywhere near effective except in short bursts. I'm told it's not losing gas. Latest diagnosis I've been given is that it may be a problem in the 'air mix control motor circuit', meaning dashboard out for a start, then I fear probably more hit and miss remedies. Given the age and value of the car (135k miles) it may be time to say goodbye - a shame as it's the best car we've ever had and otherwise an awesome vehicle for us. Hoping somebody can say there's some…

Took my CRV for a re gas to be told it needed the conpresser replaced at a cost of around £270 fitted, to be honest it's the first car I've had with air con, it's always beed open the windows in the past. Do you think that a fair price, and is it really worth worrying about I don't do loads of miles now...any views on air con please

Hi Guys. New to the forum. I have a civic 1.6se 5 door 2005. generation 7. Bought it at 5 years old 16k miles as someone wrote my mk 6 saloon off at 149k miles.... rear end smack!. its' 15 years old now and only 40k on it now. About 3 years ago I noticed I had to correct the steering on the motorway .. would veer slightly to the right. Had tracking done. no change. It was laid up for while on and off... because I was! Had to get a jump start, eps light came on but the mechanic cleared it all okay. but since then the steering became worse, cornering left was nightmare.....i had several alignments. 3 separate garages said it was the steering rack, except…

Cast your eyes upon the all-new 2012 Honda Insight. Ok, it looks almost the same but there are some very important changes making this Frankfurt Motor Show release something to get excited about - providing you like eco-driving and being very friendly to the environment. In principle it is the same 5-door hatchback as the outgoing model. It produces 96g/km some 5 fewer than the current model, and although no official figures have yet been released, the MPG figure is expected to rise above the 64.2 we've been getting used to. A number of methods have been employed in order to produce these squirrel friendly results. The CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) has been m…

I joined the forum just recently but can't help noticing many questions/queries go unanswered. Is this a new site that hasn't picked up many members yet? Honda's are so common I would expect to see many posts every day. Am I missing something?

I recently bought a Honda CRV SE plus, 2018. Can anyone tell me if this has Apple CarPlay as standard. Android phone is listed but no Apple CarPlay. Using Siri I can get music, make calls and get voice directions but Google maps does not appear on car screen.

Hey, I used to have a 53plate accord 2l i-vetch sport and it had a fab sound system as standard. Someone told me it was bose, however there were no branding tags to suggest that.. I now have a civic type s and its pants in comparison. Does anyone know what the audio equipment was used in the accord? I've tried to google but cant find anything concrete. I'd like to replicate as close as possible into the civic. Tia

Hello everyone. I have just joined the Club a few minutes ago. I appreciate your help. The car we bought last summer is fitted with the auto-box and we haven't got the manual ..... Question concerning the auto-box oil change that I intend to carry-out myself. a) How many litres should I get? b) I read somewhere that you should change the plug with each gearbox oil change. Is this correct? If yes, where does one get one ? Thank you all for your answers.

Car was excellent in every way until I left it at the airport for a week while I was away. Battery was flat(2.84v). My local dealer took it in and gave it the latest software update. While it has not gone flat yet, if it is left for a day or two the battery voltage drops to 12.22v to 12.11v each time having been on 12.60v to 12.70 v. Never had this before on any of my previous 6 Hondas. The dealer said that the latest update should cure the problem. I'm not so sure.Anyone help here.

Hi all - just wanted to find out if anyone else has experienced their battery draining on the Honda CR-V (2018 model)? Ours is only 7 months old and the battery has died completely twice within 10 days. I drive the car every day (maybe a half hour in the am and a half hour in the pm). Breakdown services and the Honda dealer can’t seem to explain why the battery is draining. We never had this issue with our previous model. I’d really appreciate hearing back from anyone who has had a similar issue and how you fixed it. Thanks in advance.

I think it's time to replace the battery on my 2006 FR-V (petrol). Looking around I can see various batteries priced from £35-£150, and it looks like different retailers use different codes for the same thing as well. For example there's Powerline 048 which costs less than £40, Yuasa YBX5053 / HSB053 which is around double that or something like Lion 158 Car Battery which falls somewhere in between. As far as I can tell all these batteries would be compatible so are there any advantages of getting the more expensive batteries vs the cheaper brands?

Hi all, Sorry to barge in like this but we at Bicester Heritage are hosting a Type-R breakfast morning to celebrate 30 years since the NSX-R. It's completely free to join, and Honda is bringing some of its heritage fleet out. https://wearescramblers.com/post/type-r-assembly

My Honda CR-V Bluetooth has stopped working. I have tried all the usual settings and tried coming out and resetting, but it just goes to the off setting after I try logging in. Has anyone else had the same problem, or can offer any help. My Honda garage wants £114 just to check it.
