CR-V 2007 to 2011

Hi, my car drives lovely but draws me to ask about the auto gear selection and if this is typical with other like model owners. When cruising on a motorway at 70mph on a level road the car sits in 8th gear at around 1800 rpm and if on a slight gradient it drops to 7th. I don’t seem to experience it using 9th gear for cruising. If I sneek up to around 80 mph, It appears I still have to manually select 9th with the paddles, it will then change up to 9th but unless going downhill it soon goes back to 8th. Is this how the car is designed to run in regards to the gears and 9th not being used when at our national speed limit? I have contacted Honda and oddly, they dont know …

Hi guys, Looking for some help. I've just noticed my 3rd brake light isn't working, looks like it is full of moisture so will probably need replacing. The brake light is fitted to a spoiler and no the actual boot door itself. I've had a look online at how to remove them but not had any luck finding anything showing how to remove it from a spoiler. Has anyone had any experience of changing these out. Thanks

Hello I am hoping that someone may be able to help diagnose an issue with our crv 09. We have just had the clutch, fly wheel and bushes replaced. Since the work has been done the engine noise in the cab is a lot more noticeable. It's definitely got louder. Its not a fault noise just normal engine noise. It's almost as if some sound proofing is missing. The car is quite new to us and we aren't mechanically minded. Any ideas?

Hi all, Ive got a 2012 CRV It’s not been driven for a few months and when I took it out today I noticed a thudding noise when pressing the brakes. Like a du du du sound.. it ‘ seemed’ to be coming from rear passenger wheel area Any clues as to what could be causing this? Is it an expensive garage fix. I’m not capable of doing it myself... Hello there, my 2007 crv had a dramatic decrease in power whilst driving home. since recovering it to my mechanic the engine will start and the cut out after 1-2 seconds. we have replaced filter, and replaced the fuel pressure regulator and still no good. anyone here have any idea what the problem may be? thanks I’m advanced Ryan.

I’m now looking at buying a 1.6 diesel crv. I was surprised that some ads stated £30 road tax, but when I checked another it was £125 tax. Is it the case that the 4WD CRVs have higher emissions and therefore higher road tax than the 2WD ones ? Is there much difference in the way they drive on the road ?

I’ve built a double bed base for a 2008 Honda CRV. I only used it twice (I run D of E courses) before the car was sadly written off (without the bed in it). It’s really good quality, comes in two pieces and along with a tailgate tent, makes for a brilliant simple camper conversion. It cost me about £200 to build. I don’t really want anything for it, but I’d like it to go to someone that will use it and benefit from it. I’ve got photos, so please email me for pics if you are interested. I have a 2013 CRV, occasional the warning light for the stop start illuminates on start up, goes off again shortly after driving off, I’ve also noticed the stop start will operate with the clutch peddle lifted to 3/4 of the way, if foot is taken off the clutch peddle the engine restarts whilst still in neutral. Since this has started cruise control also is playing up. Sometimes it operates others it doesn't. Could they be linked Regards Martin

Hello, First post here. I'll introduce myself fully but I need to get this sorted. Had my CR-V for about a year and I'm loving it. On Saturday the Car cut out while stopped in traffic. All electrics went so no hazards or steering. After 5-10 minutes it all powered back up and started as if nothing had happened. It then happened again on Tuesday night when I pulled into my drive. 11 minutes timed this time. Then restarted. I've had it with an auto-electrician today. No errors showing. Hi Wondering if anybody else has had this problem as it does not seem that uncommon. We first noticed a pulsing in the steering when going slowly around roundabouts for example and have had it checked out. When driving normally its fine - no pulsing or vibration and vehicle responds properly, but when stationary up on the ramp, the steering can be seen to pulsing back and forth slightly. Fluid has been changed, alignment and pump checked out, but still doing it. There is a lot of online comment on this phenomena, but I can find no comment on the fix. The next step is to change the rack but I am loathe to do this as there quite a few stories about this not sorting the…

on my 2007 crv ictdi 2.2 ex when i press the switch to activate the parking sensors the sound omitted is quite loud but as i approach an obstacle i can hardly hear a sound only very faint and i mean faint i dont normaly use them but caught the switch the other day reversing into my driveway to park in my back garden i have to pull both the Mirrors in to get between my semi detached and the neighbours thats how close it is, the sensors all show up on the display i'm sure when i got this vehicle just over 12 months ago the sound omitted was very loud. can anyone throw any light on this problem?

Hi All, I have a 2014 2.2 EX CRV bought it Jan 2019, warranty service was done back in Oct 2019, 39kish... 2020 nothing really happened, its been about 1.5years since the last service, thought I better service it and get the discs and pads done after the MOT (which was fine)! BUT, I can't find any info in the books about what service it is meant to be! I normally buy a service pack and give the car to my local garage who does my MOTs etc. Its a low miler, so after the 39K service back in Oct 19 (box 5, 60months service box). Looking into an automatic CR-V for covering approx 6-8k miles in a year. Generally, Diesels are not recommended for regular short runs (DPF issues) so the petrol model seems to be a better fit. Reviews in various places seem to suggest that the 2.0 petrol engine is the one to avoid. Lack of power is quoted as an issue and economy is not great either but is it really that bad? I'm not after high performance, just a reliable and comfortable family motor. Do you own one? What do you like/dislike about it? Any pointers/advice is most welcome.

Hi I've had my 2012 crv for 6 months and am very pleased with it ,the only thing that is annoying is that when I use the screen wash and the engine is hot I get a smell in side the car where it drips on the engine is there anything I can do to stop this ?

Both my ignition keys are now difficult to put into ignition slot. A little lubricant hasn't made any difference. I think both keys might be worn out as the second less used key is now playing up some 18 months after swapping over. Be grateful for any advice on what i should do. Regards Phil

Good evening folks. This is ignorant of me, I know, but while flicking through the manual last night I discovered that I should be able to get traffic alerts, weather reports and traffic info displayed on the map. So I have spent all day today turning all the alerts on and I went for numerous drives but I get the same message; "No Information Received". Is it something silly that i'm doing wrong? I've attached a picture. I have a 2015 Cr-v 1.6 diesel. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Has anyone replaced/cleaned the EGR valve on the 2.2 DTEC engine? It looks like an absolute **** of a job. Can it be done from the top or does the exhaust need to come off? Its a rusty mess that will end up with sheared bolts if I even look at them the wrong way!

As previously mentioned, I bought a 2010 CR-V awd auto with 57,000 mileage several months ago. Happy with it except for excessive road noise. When I look down in the engine bay, past the engine I expected to see some sort of under body tray which would hopefully lessen the noise but I can see straight down to the road. So I wondered whether at some previous service a tray or cover(s?) had been left off by accident. Or does it fact not need one? In September last year out of the blue multiple warning lights appeared on the dash of my Honda CRV 2.2 I-DTEC SR 2013. 43,000 miles. The car continued to drive normally. I arranged for my local dealer to collect the car and investigate as well as carrying out a full service. Diagnostics showed low fuel pressure. The fuel filter was changed and the faults erased. The car then ran normally until mid December when the same situation occurred with warning lights appearing at random in no particular order. I then arranged for the dealer to investigate the problem again. I was told they couldn't look at the car for 3 weeks! In the meantime I purchased and fitted a new battery …

The garage has just checked a leak in my power steering and informed me that he cant get the parts due to the age of my vehicle. He suggested I use Google or ask on a forum, so here I am! Can anyone suggest a supplier? It’s a Honda CRV 2007 diesel, I’ve tried Google but I’m not sure what I’m looking for. The mechanic said it was the steel power steering pipes that feed the steering rack which have corroded. Is there anyone on here who could offer some advice? Hi, The front nearside parking sensor on my 2011 CRV went wrong - dashboard displayed Check System and indicated which sensor was faulty. I replaced the sensor - the problem changed but did not go away. Now I do not get any faulty sensor indications - but as soon as I drop below 5mph - even if nothing within 100 metres of the car - the dashboard indicates that there is an obstacle close by - in other words the sensor reacts. Is there a way of rebooting the system, or maybe the sensor control module is faulty? So I would greatly appreciate any advice please. I have recently purchased a 2009 Honda CR-V i-CTDI which I'm really happy with. However I need to replace an interior bulb above the rear view mirror. I have removed the non working Festoon bulb which states 'Kelly 12v 8w' on it but I am having real difficulty in sourcing a new bulb. All I can find are 12v 10w Festoon bulbs and I am concerned they may do damage to the car. I did look at LED bulbs but again they are only 10w and I've he…
