  1. Yes, thats right but you will still need the old key positioned somewhere in the vicinity of the key reading aerial by the barrel to pick up the original immobiliser chip
  2. Hi Lewis...welcome to the Forum Superb little car .... always wanted one years ago but never got round to ticking it off the list Good to have you onboard Cheers, Trevor

Let us know how it works out for you
  4. I tucked my cabling down the A pillar trim as it only has to just tuck in behind enough not to be seen and therefore you don't need to remove the trim
  5. Hi....welcome to the Forum The CR-V has superb build quality...in all the years I have owned mine I can honestly say I have never had any issues with squeaks and rattles Good to have you onboard Cheers, Trevor
  6. probably the case but easy to simulate by disconnecting and applying a load to the boot to see if the headlamps shift down
  7. I think I would stick to the genuine Honda oil if poss.....bought some for my CRV diff on eBay and loads cheaper than dealership
  8. Hi....welcome to the Forum I would definitely go back to the dealership and get them to change it under warranty as this shouldn't happen on a car this new. It's a common fault on some Nissans but wasn't aware of it on Honda's though

Crikey, that's a lot of money for a sensor but I suppose if it works then so be it
  10. I would therefore change it more frequently just in case it has had been missed over time
  11. Hi....welcome to the Forum There are two reasons for height sensors: 1. to give a reading to feedback to hydraulic/pneumatic dynamic suspension where the dampers or air bags will adjust according to ride heights. 2. to give a reading to feedback to the Xenon headlights to ensure other road users don't suffer glare from the headlamp. If you disconnect it and see if one of your headlamps doesn't adjust on one side. Let us know what you find. Cheers, Trevor

I would imagine a sensor from an Accord should work, just find the one that has the longest lead length and see if it compares to yours. I bought one from ebay for a 2005 Accord and is was around £15
  13. Surely being only two years old the car should have some sort of warranty? I would persist in hassling the dealer if it is affecting drivability and / or safety
  14. Hi and welcome 🙂
  15. Hi Mark.....welcome to the Forums Here is a link to Adrian Flux who provide a discount to Owners Club members on policies. https://www.adrianflux.co.uk/car-insurance/ If you mention Honda Owners Club and hopefully you'll get a cheaper quote Cheers, Trevor
  16. That's really bad if they claim they carried out a service and did not.....I would therefore go to an independent garage from now on, who will in fact do the same job and a sight cheaper as well
  17. You can't beat a CRV for long distance touring, used mine all the time to go to the European race circuits and still felt fresh on arrival (usually 11 hours later!) The aux socket tends to work when you put the audio on auxiliary and control the rest from the phone...try another lead as the one you have may be faulty?
  18. I suppose if the oil was clean when you got it then it blackened up through carbon (soot) in the engine. Could recommend a better quality fuel to eliminate the doubt and also change the oil more frequently then no problem with the longevity of the engine.
  19. Great result all round and pleased that you are happy with the performance, which seems to be an issue with those who want to light up the tyres or race away from the lights. My only aspiration nowadays is to achieve a higher MPG figure and if that means driving conservatively then so be it....I have a motorbike for when I need to get my speed chills 🙂 Let us know how accurate the updated Garmin works
  20. You might find some manuals for slightly earlier CRVs on eBay that cover the 2.0 litre engine but they only seem to go to 2010 https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m570.l1313&_nkw=2014+honda+crv+workshop+manual&_sacat=0
  21. I would say the 1.6 is quite underpowered compared to the rather punchy 2.2. However, it depends what you are planning to use it for, eg. long motorway drives or around town. It therefore would not be an issue to have the 1.6 for town use as it is sufficient to drive in urban areas without breaking too much of a sweat. No issues as far as I am aware to look out for. Not sure about the Garmin but the previous SatNav i know was dealer only but not too expensive (£200) and not sure about Apple CarPlay, sorry!
  22. Worth having it checked out as it could be a loose bolt if previous work has been carried out on it in the suspension or transmission areas
  23. 4x4 Direct sell them
  24. Hi....welcome to the Forum A connisseur of fine vehicles then...good collection! Good to have you onboard Cheers, Trevor
  25. Hi...welcome to the Forum Wise move from the BMW to the Honda....much better quality and reliability There is a company 4x4 Direct who are suppliers of such accessories, worth checking out their website Good to have you onboard Cheers, Trevor
