  2. Hi my FRV won't start once it's done a run. It starts 1st thing. Then I drive to a destination and park. When I go to leave, it won't start again. Ive had loads of checks to the engine but nothing can be found. I've had all new filters fitted, new oil change. I've also spent out on new battery, starter motor, 4 new injectors even. Still same problem. Its cost me a lot of money, which I've spent cos I like the car. But I still can't find the problem to get it fixed. Any ideas please?

Hello, haven't owned by frv long, it's a 2.2 diesel. Garage said injectors were leaking so changed all 4, still the car will not start. If we spray easy start into it it starts right away and drives absolutely fine. Any ideas I would be very grateful

Hi. My Honda is making a noise around the fan belt drives. It seems a lot louder than usual. The only things that have happened are that I recharged the air con, which now is lovely and cold. But then the battery drained a few hours later. Well tbh it kinda started turning off during driving when I slowed down. Later I had to attempt a battery to battery jump start, but the car battery jumped back to life the second I connected the leads. The next day the battery was dead again. I did the same and drive for a few hours. But the engine sounds loud. After an hour I stopped. Then came back to car and as I pulled out, the…

Man I love that car but want something even more reliable now which is why Honda are my go to. Trouble is with all the different reviews can anyone tell me which is best 1.7 1.8 2.2 etc diesel/petrol I need the boot space and there's 3 of us. I like the idea of my 5 year old in the cock pit too. It will mainly be city driving for work purposes and we go away mostly every other weekend. Thank you to all that respond!

Hi all. So I have this FR-V that's causing me headache for a while. It's a 2008 2.2 diesel with 6speed manual gearbox, just over 123k miles. Bought it with few issues that I thought will be easy to fix, but stuck at the moment.. The main issue is that the car is pulling to the left. The odd thing about it is that the pull is not consistent. I.e. in the morning, when you set off there's no noticeable pull, while couple roundabouts later, you really need to hold the steering wheel! Also the steering wheel seems to be easier to turn to left rather than right. Car recently had both front wheel bearings done, new track rod ends, second hand shocks (a…

  8. Had a man check air con as not working - air con circuit dead to air con clutch. I then recalled that I had a error code reader although no fault on the dash appeared. Code P645 is the error code. So where do I go from here. I do recall several months ago the crunching of something and when turning off air con it went away. So I left it off. Recently turned on air con and no noise but no air con either! What needs to be replaced please and anyone know the part number. I think it is the air con clutch assembly but can I find one...no I cant ! Thanks Bobbybiscuit

I am in need to replace FR-V 2009 1.8l petrol automatic right hand (driver side) drive shaft and I can't find the replacement part as it shows everywhere out of stock. Part number is 44305-SJD-E20 and I wonder if there is any alternative option for that part, maybe some other honda models share the same part but under different part numbers? I found Honda OEM part but I can't afford to spend over £500 just for part alone and also wait till mid october, so any input from you guys will be appreciated. Thank you in advance! JZ

Hi, my rear parking sensors are not working. There is no sound when I switch into reverse and move if there is an obstacle behind. I've tried switching the sensors for known working ones. Is there an associated fuse that is blown? Will it likely be the control unit and how can I test this? Thanks

Hello to all, My Civic mk9 2.2 idtec condenser is leaking and my local Honda garage was going to charge me £700 to replace which i think is asking too much. Just thinking how easy to replace it myself, just needs re gassing afterwards, i have basic mechanical skills but never had to do this sort of work. any reply's will be very grateful.

Hi there. I need to replace the 2nd clutch pressure switch in my F-RV (2009), but can't find any reference to this part anywhere on the web. I can find clutch pressure switches for just about every other Honda model, but not the F-RV. Does anyone know where I can get the part number - or is the same component used in say the C-RV?

  15. Hi, I'm new to the forum but not new to Hondas. We have had 3 Hondas over the past 20 years or so, a Civic Type-R and two Jazz's but we are looking for a cheap car with 6+ seats for family staycations and driving trips in Europe. I'm looking at the FRV 1.8 manual and was wondering if anyone can give me some advice on what to look out for. My main concern is it breaking down while I'm on holiday or having to spend lots of money fixing it after I've driven it away. Most of the FRVs I've seen so far are well in excess of 100,000miles and 98% of them are still using their original clutch - is this a problem? How long does the original clutch tend to …

Hi. How easy is it to replace the exhaust on an Frv. Most of it is stainless steel but the part the mechanic welded is not. I think it is just the one downpipe that needs replaced and am wondering how hard it is to do and where would I get the relevant part. Apparently the mechanic said there are only OEM parts available and it will cost about £400. Sorry I'm a bit vague but that's all I have at the moment

Hi Folks, great forum on here, and I'm hoping you guys can help me out, my question is, can I fit (the Honda factory fit) roof rails to an FRV that's doesn't have them? i.e. I'm looking at buying an FRV currently choosing between two models; a 2006 (low milage) or a 2009 (high milage). Im leaning towards the low milage 2006 model but I will need roof rails and the 2006 doesn't have them, so are roof rails somthing I can fit after the fact? Thanks in advance!

Just had a regas on the air con and discovered for following issue Air con was desperate for regas so had it done. Use to work fine last year despite not super cold due to needing the regas. however after regas it’s playing up. When sat on idle everything is engaged and the compressor is spinning but no cold air. But when you apply some revs after a while idling it’s goes super cold for a few seconds but then starts to warm back up. I have removed pollen filters which were a bit old, garage has told me pump is dead. But I’m struggling with this has the pump is spinning at idle but not cooling, and when revs are applied it wakes up and cools for a f…

  20. Hi All, I have a Honda frv auto petrol 1.8 2008 model. I have been having this issue with my FRV for a while, when in park my engine will intermittently vibrate it sometimes can vibrate very aggressively if I reposition the steering a little the vibration will die down for a moment and start up again until I reposition the steering or it eventually stops vibrating it self. This mainly happens when the car is in park or neutral. It doesn’t happen when driving. I have already replaced power steering fluid and the o ring as I thought this might be the issue unfortunately it did not help. My brakes and pads are all relatively new, my tyres are poor and do n…

HI, I have a 2006 2.2cdti sport FR-V. I love it and so does our 10 year old in the middle seat:-) I recently had to do a couple of thousand miles in a matter of three weeks - the car has already done 166,000 miles, but has never missed a beat. The car drives great, but I have noticed it is taking longer to crank. it would previously start in a second , but now it i taking between 2-5 ? One started , it drives fine, no loss of power, etc, and doing a reasonable 41-44 mpg on a run. ( I am not a boy racer :-) ) I am not a mechanic but should I be concerned , as I have to do another thousand …

I have a 2006 FR-V 1.7 Petrol V-Tec (D17A2 engine) . I had to replace the crankshaft all back together but the green immobiliser light comes on. The engine cranks, but will not fire - no spark. The fuel pump primes - but the plugs are dry so no fuel getting to the cylinders. I replaced the battery in the key fob I checked the Immobiliser fuse under the dash and that is OK. Is there anything I have missed? Is there a wiring diagram for the immobiliser circuit anywhere? Thanks in advance for any help

Hi there everyone, a few years ago I replace one of the o-rings on the power steering pump as the fluid was bubbling and getting a whining sound when driving. This resolved the issue then but this has now come back and I can't find the part number anywhere. Does anyone have this please? It was an orange o-ring. Thanks
