  1. I had the same colour scheme on my Capri.....going for the RS3100 lookalike 🙂 I can well imagine your Broadspeed version was 'proverbial off the shovel' and can well imagine it would out-perform the E-Type as it comes down to power to weight ratio and the Jag was a heavy car in the day. Would love to hear about the other cars as well?
  2. Usually when the battery is even slightly depleted then the stop/start goes offline to preserve energy. This may be due to lockdown and infrequent use. It should restore over time when used more often
  3. Sounds like an absolute drama, but that is the same for a lot of modern vehicles nowadays Did it pass the MOT test okay? p.s. SuperBlackBird....very nice bike!
  4. Hi.....welcome to the Club I believe it may be a battery charge issue which would cause the subsidiary systems to not be active until the battery voltage is showing as sufficient. Worse case scenario, replace the battery for a new quality branded one
  5. I think that's they key word 'watching the road' and being aware of your surroundings....speed cameras tend to distract drivers and lead to harsh braking at the last moment.
  6. That's harsh Taz ....I would have contested that in court as it can't be proved by the police officers in question. My understanding (advanced motorcycle qualified) is that you can safely and legally ride over the double solid white lines on a motorbike if safe to do so and also if the traffic is at a standstill and at a sensible crawling speed.
  7. Now you're talking Baz .....had a mk1 3.0litre GXL facelift and also a mk2 Cortina 3.0 litre Savage .....both of which I wished I still had 😞 Got any photos of the Capri?
  8. The early Honda's were really going in the right direction but sadly the latter cars are not so tuneable
  9. Discerning tunes Taz .... 🙂
  10. Trouble is that the vibration is at a high(ish) speed and difficult to diagnose a static or dynamic imbalance at that speed as tyre machines can only simulate low rotational speed to balance the wheel and tyre. I used to fill tyres with a puncture prevention liquid which would throw out under centrifugal force and coat the inside of the tyre (Slime is very similar). However, on some tyres (Dunlop in particular) it would not adhere to the inside of the tyre and create a dynamic imbalance which was noticeable at a similar speed to what you have described. In your case, I imagine you have not equipped your tyres with puncture preventative fluid so we could probably discount this as a possible cause. Other causes could be loose wheel nuts, something dropped into the tyre, tyre defect which is not showing at lower speeds / wheel balancer. Maybe remove the offending wheel and examine everything carefully to see if anything is amiss
  11. No, the satnav discs not being readable should not affect the audio as far as I can see. If the battery is draining with the engine and ignition off (and the doors closed so no interior light on) then i would probably look at the alternator being faulty.
  12. Hi....welcome to the Club I would test the pressures to see if they are correct otherwise the system will shut down which may be the reason
  13. Was there anything that caused the sudden failure with the window switch...work carried out, parts fitted?
  14. I would check that the battery is strong enough for Stop/Start to operate by running a deep discharge test...can also usually be done by checking how much the headlamps dim when turning engine over. You could also check with your dealer or local Honda specialist to see if the battery voltage needs resetting on the car to recognise a full charge as if it has been discharged then the vehicle will log that as the stored voltage (BMW use this system for smart charge management)
  15. Yes, the fact that its new enough to have a warranty and I would definitely take it back as it may be a software update needed to resolve the issue
  16. It could be a similar situation then with anything that hasn't been used for a while so it would be a process of elimination by disconnecting the fuses one by one whilst measuring the battery voltage drop and/or current draw Would probably start with the alternator to see if thats draining the battery
  17. I would then position it to the right of the ADAS in that case
  18. Nice collectable item and also a good pen regardless of the branding
  19. What year is the car? It could be an issue with the transmission rather than the engine. Would be worth getting it checked at Honda as it could get worse and leave in an awkward position while driving
  20. Sometimes it helps to adjust the handbrake enough so the slack isn't so much and doesn't bounce off the switch
  21. Had this occur on my CR-V and didn't take long for it to start jamming on and having to drag the car into the layby and wait for it to cool down. Replaced the caliper and just waiting for the other one to follow in due course
  22. 0w30 is recommended but I put 5w30 in my CR-V. The oil weight is not so important but the ACEA spec which should be A5/B5 https://www.halfords.com/motoring/engine-oils-and-fluids/engine-oil/petronas-syntium-3000-fr-5w-30-oil-5l-256500.html
  23. Hi....welcome to the Club I know exactly what you mean, when I had surgery some time ago, I couldn't have the belt tightening against me so I bought one of these clips and it worked superbly. It doesn't hinder the seatbelt operation or cause damage but it retains it slightly off the body and doesn't retract beyond the point you attach it to on the belt. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/383592771501?epid=10034692864&hash=item594fe92fad:g:mHIAAOSwElte6QPz
  24. I have successfully fitted a hard wire kit and also standard auxiliary power lead down the pillar just by tucking it behind rather than removing the plastic cover and disturbing the SRS. Once it is tucked behind it can't be seen and doesn't interfere with the SRS as long as it is not connected to any of the SRS wiring (usually yellow colour trunking)
