Hi did start a DPF thread on the Accord forum but guessing it probably applies to more than one vehicle in their range. But as I did not get a reply tried to hunt around the net but came up blank so put a complaint into Honda. Did get too escalations but not much joy help wise but thought I would share their reply and my take on it. Probably do this in two parts. first up an overview then tomorrow will try and clarify how the first stage DPF regen works as that really threw me. forgive me if I mess up with any images. Honda’s position on their diesel cars is:- “Please be advised that the Diesel Particulate Filter is an exhaust component which…

Took my CRV for a re gas to be told it needed the conpresser replaced at a cost of around £270 fitted, to be honest it's the first car I've had with air con, it's always beed open the windows in the past. Do you think that a fair price, and is it really worth worrying about I don't do loads of miles now...any views on air con please

I joined the forum just recently but can't help noticing many questions/queries go unanswered. Is this a new site that hasn't picked up many members yet? Honda's are so common I would expect to see many posts every day. Am I missing something?

Hi all you lovely CRV Members, I am a little disappointed with the response received when a Member asks for some help or advice on a subject or problem they are having with their Honda CRV, I have asked a few questions being new to the Honda Mark and usually the only response I receive is from an Administrator ,which is always appreciated, but look how many others have asked for help and very rarely do they get an answer or at least an educated guess at what the answer might be. I thought I would mention this after looking at how many unanswered question their appears to be on the Forum. So unfortunately I have now resorted to having go to the expensive Main Dealer …

Just checked my 2008 mK3 CRV on the Government Website to find out if it is Dreaded ULEZ Compliant, Thankfully it is, Its worth checking Folks because even if you do not go to London, They have proposed that it is going to be rolled out across other Counties and Cities in the near future, another Money Spinner from the Motorist, 🤑 Worth checking out now just put your Reg Number in to find out if yours is compliant. So the traffic event list, which is invaluable for traffic problems she’s that - no entries exist? Has anybody else experienced this problem and if so are there any solutions? nick

How should a diesel car be driven? Over the years by various 'esperts' I've been told to get the best and a long life from them drive them hard all the time others have said softly softly and still other softly most of the time but give them a good hard drive sometimes to clean the pipes out. So which is right please.

A question which has always come up when talking to other Drivers is, which Windscreen Wipers are the best and value for money, I have used various types on my different vehicles, some work well while others not so good even the most expensive ones, Has any Member got any ideas on this ???? Hi all, I have a 2011 crv ex ivtec and for some unknown reason the factory hid headlights have started aiming high. I've owned the car for 2 years and never had the problem before. There is no manual adjustment inside the car nor is there under the bonnet. Can anyone tell me what might have caused this and how I'd go about fixing it please? Many thanks Jay.

I'm so jealous my colleague at work has put his name down for a new Type R, more suited for the older gent as it doesn't have the boy racer spoiler. Apparently it has been lowered to compensate for the spoiler, it looks the dogs.

Hi Guys our trusty Honda Jazz I VTEC ES CVT 2011 has just been written off by some clown driving into the back of it. IK had purchased a spare 15 inch wheel for it as a spare, haven't got anytime for the fancy gunk and pump. We have now purchased a 2019 Jazz I-VTEC EX Navi CVT that doesn't even haver a jack with it let alone a spare wheel. I have made enquiries at my local supplier and he tells me they can't get me a spare wheel, albeit they did get me one for my 2011 jazz. I've asked the guys in the dealership and they tell me you can't put a full size spare in the boot of the new jazz as it would lift the floor level of the boot and would not be legal when taking the MO…

I am owner of a 2015 honda crv.....the infotainment system has stopped working (just get the Honda brand logo and a small spinning wheel - looks like its searching for something). I have taken it into the Honda dealer (Listers Northampton) and they say nothing can be done other than replacing the unit, and are quoting me £3,500 for this. Has anyone come across this before or am I being taken for ride?! Thanks Phil

Hi All I have noticed lately that my Crv has developed a squeal when depressing the Clutch Pedal, Had a good look through other Honda Owners comments on this and apparently it can be a problem on some Hondas, The clutch is operating fine, so located the Clutch Slave Cylinder and gave it good dose of WD40 and some 3 in 1 around the rubber seals and the slave cylinder piston, okay its not the same as removing the piston and doing a proper job, but the squealing noise has stopped , and a relief not to get this noise every time, I will let others know the outcome. Have a good weekend Guys & Gals BAZZER RN 1

  19. I am going to register my FR-V (currently UK reg, 2006 car) in France. Therefore I need to change the dipped beam, which in most cars means changing the whole headlamp. I am really struggling to find any LHD headlight unitss, at a price which is anything like sensible, so I just wanted to check if anyone had had any experience of adapting the existing RHD headlamps ? There's no hidden adaptor (BMW style), or work-around??? Changing them to Xenon seems to be illegal and doesn't create a decent, sharp light pattern which the French Controle Technique looks for. My question sounds a bit daft, but I have to ask.. I have been looking for used (or even new) h…

My 2005 CRV had a new clutch fitted at the start of this year before that and after when the weather is dry the clutch often becomes squeaky in wet it it never happen so recently I've been spraying WD40 though the gap behind the front wheels and to date it's seems to have done the trick! Could this have lubricated the problem I don't know but fingers crossed 😏

Hi All I am considering fitting Four new Tyres on my 4 wheel Drive 2008 Mk 3 CRV and having done a fair bit of research on the type of Tyre I might need as I don't do an excessive mileage I have found Royal Black Sport Tyres being sold by the RAC for my type of vehicle which on the face of it conforms to all I need including the Road Holding and Safety aspect and has got some good reviews on all the Websites, Sure I could go for the more expensive make of tyre but this may be false economy based on the reviews for the Royal Black Sports Tyres, Not being a Car Tyre Professional If any one has had any experience with these Tyres I would appreciate a practic…

The key objective for comfortable, economical, and safe driving is ‘smoothness’: the absence of sudden or rapid changes in speed or direction. Smooth driving will also reduce the loading and wear on a car’s suspension, brakes, tyres, and drive train. The car’s intelligent sensing functions can be very helpful, but they are far from perfect and left to themselves they will not always provide a smooth drive. This then, is the intelligent driver’s challenge: to anticipate when the sensing functions will not be helpful and cancel/reset them as appropriate. In free-flowing traffic, use ACC in Normal/Econ mode*, set the target speed at what would be…

Hi, I'm thinking of buying a classic Prelude and wanted to know which the best ones are. My dad had a 92 Accord which I loved and I been looking at a 2000 Prelude. I remember Rover having an influence in later 90s cars and wanted to avoid those, but did this extend to the prelude? Also are there any to avoid? I've seen 4 stud and 5 stud hubs and wondered why there were 2 types produced. If anyone can help it would be appreciated!
