  1. Hi....welcome to the Forum Not entirely sure of accessing sub-menus in the vehicle system and indeed what levels are available in the dealer software/hardware to be able to initialise this feature. As you say, it is functional in the States and also other countries where insurance specifies it has to occur for reasons of personal safety. It is worth asking your local dealer if they can 'switch it on' for you. Let us know what you find out
  2. One from a Toyota owners club news page but the principles are the same https://www.toyotaownersclub.com/news/articles/tips-on-how-to-keep-your-car-germ-free-r117/?fbclid=IwAR13lZqb_h4a90IwUtOwnnBMaEOg29r8g0XT8R22Obxbpjr6ndIu70zbDpA
  3. From 30 March 2020, MOT due dates for cars, motorcycles and light vans will be extended by 6 months. This is being done to help prevent the spread of coronavirus. https://autoevoke.com/index.php?/news/forums/from-30-march-2020-mot-due-dates-will-be-extended-by-6-months-r119/
  4. Hi....welcome to the Forum Usually DAB requires an additional aerial to pick up digital stations. https://www.halfords.com/technology/car-audio/stereo-fittings/autoleads-dab-film-antenna-smb---dab-aa1-338357.html Worth trying for £20 to see if that improves things
  5. Hi Nick....welcome to the Forum I believe there are a few other early Accord owners on this site. Many miles on it? Good to have you (and your wife's car) onboard
  6. Hi....welcome to the Forum I'm not sure personally but if local then I would be tempted to try them for size, if not then I suppose if they have a returns policy then maybe this is the way forward?
  7. Hi....welcome to the Forum Sorry to hear about the FRV as the diesel engine is usually so reliable Look forward to seeing some pics of the Stream
  8. Hi Iain.....welcome to the Forum It sounds like one of two things: Power Steering Fluid is low Auxiliary drivebelt is slipping or damaged Check also the tyre pressures are correct (e.g. above 30 psi) Let us know what you find
  9. Hi John.....welcome to the Forum Most quality seat cover which comply to British Standards would work with side airbags and there are quite a few British companies producing covers to suit your car Here's a couple to start with https://www.theseatsurgeons.co.uk/ https://stormtight.co.uk/
  10. Hi Cameron....welcome to the Forum The Civic does indeed come in many different forms and having driven a few its fair to say that I think it definitely comes down to personal choice. Take as many different variants out and see which one floats your boat the most. Let us know how you get on with it
  11. Hi....welcome to the Forum I too have recently tackled a similar task on a 2005 CRV and although I have not yet removed the heater motor I have diagnosed it as the motor at fault....power going to the motor but not working, has to be the motor. Would be interested to know what you eventually find it to be as I have to tackle this job in the near future
  12. With all the bad news thats going around lately, let's all keep our chin up with a bit of music. Let's run a "Your song of the day" using YouTube videos Pop a new song up daily and keep it going! my choice today is The Chain by Fleetwood Mac, seems to be chilling me out but giving just enough drive to power me through the day 🙂
  13. My first thoughts are you have a slight exhaust leak before the cat, or even a crack in the manifold. The only true way to determine this is to either place a rag firmly over the exhaust and listen for escaping air....there's your leak! Alternatively, if you have a friendly garage, ask them to measure the oxygen levels in the exhaust gases and if much more than 0% to 1% you have air in the gas which means its drawing it from somewhere and not burning it (post combustion) Let us know what you find
  14. I would probably think that it wouldn't be a crank sensor if the engine is running and restarts (albeit reluctantly). If the fuel pump was replaced then there is probably air in the fuel filter head which if you pump the bulb then this will draw it to the top and then engine will fire up almost instantly. If the bulb is weak and gets firmer with pumping it then you have air trapped in the system which needs to be bled out
  15. Hi Dan.....welcome to the Forum Here is a link to Adrian Flux who provide a discount to Owners Club members on policies. https://www.adrianflux.co.uk/car-insurance/ If you mention Honda Owners Club and hopefully you'll get a cheaper quote
  16. Eurocarparts would be your best bet or ebay as you can then compare the prices. Just put your registration in and it will find the part you need
  17. Let us know when you locate it as useful to know for future reference
  18. That's a strange one but certainly something which needs to be investigated by a Honda dealership or specialist repairer with the correct diagnostic equipment. It may just be a simple fix but one which necessitates the correct diagnosis rather than changing parts without success. Let us know what it turns out to be
  19. Hi Dave.....welcome to the Forum Hope all is well in Holland regarding the CoronaVirus? Good to have you onboard
  20. Hi Keith I think you are right, but it will be either there or at the other end of the crankshaft near the flywheel. Worth checking there first before removing any components. How do you know it is the crank sensor, as they don't usually fail that often?
  21. I can't really define the noise from the sound clip Can you describe it and compare it something similar?
  22. Hi .... welcome to the Forum I believe there should be an Aux port somewhere in the car...on the CRV it is inside the centre console and some cars have them in the glovebox. There are plenty of aux adapters that can interface with the audio by transmitting to a certain FM frequency and these just plug into the cigar lighter.
  23. It is indeed UK based and managed 🙂
  24. Hi....welcome to the Forum Mintex are good brake pads and i have never had any issues with them in the past. Let us now how you get on with them
