  1. Hi.....welcome to the forum Most specialist interior (cars and boats) trimmers could repair it but may also be worth looking on ebay for a replacement
  2. If it were me I would start from scratch and replace anything that doesn't look new and then continue a new servicing regime from there onwards Initial cost is higher but balances out after the next few services plus you know everything is in tip top condition.
  3. Hi...welcome to the Forum The lid will act against the spring when opening and closing so I am assuming that the spring will be positioned in the lower part of the dash where the lid goes into. It should just slow into a recess and fit snugly, then position the lid into the slot acting against the spring
  4. Hi....welcome to the forum I'm not sure what year your CRV is but if it is within 3 years then I would be recommending servicing activities be carried out by the local Honda dealership and they would have records and procedures appropriate to the service schedules recommended to the vehicle mileage and usage.
  5. Hi David.....welcome to the Forum Haven't come across this before but I wonder if one of the rear lamp units has been removed before and put back in correctly? This is usually a good place for water to leak through into the boot Let us know what you find
  6. You will need a GOOD air inflator (usually one at a petrol station) to inflate a completely flat tyre once you have removed the valve core. Squeeze the correct amount into the tyre through the valve stem and reinsert the valve core and inflate the tyre to the correct pressure, that's it! Let us know how you get on with it
  7. Hi ....welcome to the forum What is the issue with the alarm? I don't think there would actually be a fuse for the alarm as such
  8. Hi Alan....welcome to the forum There are usually some companies selling window seals of certain styles but not specific to Honda as such, you would need to choose the most similar style and size. In the meantime, maybe taking the seal off and moving it to a different position usually works in the short term
  9. I wonder if there is a setting in the radio that maybe needs switching to daylight saving time This link may give some useful information https://www.hondacarland.com/blog/2017/march/17/how-to-set-the-honda-accords-clock-for-daylight-savings-time.htm
  10. Hi Brian...welcome to the Forum two things come to mind, are you both using the same tyre company? and also have the rims been tested for cracks which could account for the slight air loss. I personally use Slime in my tyres and has always cure the odd loss of air over time. Lots of people say that it is not a permanent cure but I have run Slime in my tyres on motorbikes, campervan and cars and never had a puncture or lost air over any amount of time. Worth a punt even if its just in the one tyre to see how it pans out Let us know how you get on with it
  11. Hi.....welcome to the Forum As far as I know there are not really any issues relating any of the engines in the Honda range, they are all very reliable I suppose it is a case of choosing which one suits your motoring needs best (economy, performance or tax category) Good to have you onboard and let us know what you find in your search
  12. Hi Adam Thanks for the updated post, sorry no-one had responded to your previous one. Have you got many jobs to carry out on the Civic, hence the reason for the manual or is it a case of being prepared just in case?
  13. Sounds like a good compromise and shouldn't attract too much of the wrong type of attention. I test drive the Type R when it came out but didn't get on with the lack of visibility, too many blind spots in my opinion but it does look great 🙂 Was happy to get back into my CRV later on that day....like a comfy pair of old slippers
  14. I don't think the extended warranty is really needed as the CRV is a very reliable vehicle but it is always good to have for peace of mind. The 2.2 CDTi when driven conservatively can achieve around 45 mpg and for a vehicle of this size thats pretty good. Not sure of the 1.6 diesel though, but should be too far behind the 2.2 and also more suitable for shorter journeys

  16. Welcome to the Forum Simon Good luck with the seach for a Honda, there's plenty out there but prices are usually higher than most other makes (for a reason!)
  17. Hi Simon....welcome to the forum The Civic will be miles apart from the BMW in so many ways but it is a difference that is positive especially with the future proofing, reliability, etc. I don't think you'll be disappointed but maybe worth driving a few first just to make sure you like it or even look at the CRV as a potential....an absolutely fine vehicle for every situation and I couldn't think of a better family vehicle that delivers such a superb mpg, comfort and reliability Let us know how you get on and when you get a Honda
  18. I had this issue a couple of weeks ago with a Kia Sportage, virtually same issues.....ended up changing the alternator and sorted it. However, the alternator was trying to charge so I checked all the leads, especially the earth leads to ensure there was continuity throughout the charging circuit before committing to a new/rebuilt alternator. If the alternator is hot then chances are it is more than likely faulty. Let us know how you get on with it
  19. Can you clean up the connection or make an external connection with some wire and splice it into the loom? If not, then breakers yard is the other option I suppose but possibly has the same issue if it is a common fault Let us know how you get on with it
  20. Let us know if it fits okay, cheers
  21. Hi ..... welcome to the Forum Good to have you onboard
  22. Hi Pob....welcome to the Forum I personally would go for the older version solely because they were free of any issues and not so sure about the newer spec ones. The CDTi engine is sound and should never give any issues so no worries there. Just make sure that if it is the older model that it has been maintained correctly and at the specified times. Let us know how you get on with finding one
  23. I think you'll find once you use the system (Sat Nav and Radio) that it will take the time from these signals and update the time/date automatically
  24. yes, same area but seperate when removed the retaining screws
  25. Hi....welcome to the Forum from memory and replacing control unit on a CRV a few weeks ago, carefully remove the fascia plate and the panel stays in place with a couple screws retaining it. Replaced the panel and the A/C worked fine after that. Let us know what you find
